I started in trying Agility in the mid 2000’s with my Border Terrier, Ripley. At the time Flyball was my main dog sport, but Ripley wasn’t quite cut out for the chaos of Flyball. With Ripley, I quickly found out how much enjoyment I got from teaching different skills and figuring out what training approaches worked best for him. Eventually that love for learning led to using them to teach beginner agility classes.

Having a solid foundation in teaching beginners from the ground up has helped me really understand where students can make small incremental changes to see big improvements. As a lifelong learner, I am continuously updating my skills and techniques with in-person workshops and on-line courses. This continuing education allows me to always be bringing new information to the students.

In class I tailor it to each student’s experience and goals. I am always willing to work within a student’s current skills and help a student expand their skills. Only positive training methods are allowed, while always keeping the dog’s best interest first and foremost. I am passionate about helping students be the best partner for their dog in agility.

Over 20+ years in agility has included 7 different dogs and MANY different breeds (Border Terrier, Border Collie, Dutch Shepherd, SBT, Belgian Malinois, BC Sport Mix) from 8” to 24” in multiple Agility venues (AKC, CPE, USDAA, UKI). Not all dogs or handlers are the same, finding what works for each team is her #1 priority.
